Marcos Miller (above) and Atsuko Fujimoto (Miyake, Standard, Fore Street) have teamed up on a new neighborhood eatery, Ten Ten Pié, located at 171 Cumberland Avenue (previously the home of DiPietro’s sandwich shop). According to the announcement email we received recently, Ten Ten Pie is “offering an eclectic menu that will evolve and grow” including “traditional European pastry with an international twist, baked in house each morning.” Open Wednesday through Friday, 7 am – 4pm, and Saturday 8-2:30 “to start, and we will expand our days/hours as we get things up and running.” When we visited, the take-out menu included a variety of tasty treats. Sweet pastries include Fruit Buckle Coffee Cake, “Kuign Amann” Brittany sugar buns and a variety of croissants. Savory pastries have names that will make your mouth water, such as “Nikuman Steamed Bun with Pork & Kimchi” or “Sea Salt Onigiri” (multi-grain rice, edamame and nori) and “Chinese Sausage Croissant.” The Bento Box Lunch changes daily, and there’s always a vegetarian option. Or stop in for an afternoon sweet such as Chèvre cheese cake, Doiuble Chocoloate Sake Cake, Seasonal Tarte Tatin or a selection of cookies and macaroons. Prepared drinks include your standard coffee, iced coffee and black tea, but there’s also green and herbal teas as well as beer and wine. Who’s hungry now?
